If the tub has been emptied, shut off either the hot tap or the cold tap connection to the washer.
Don't turn on the washer.
Allow it to stay that way for a few hours then check the tub for water.
If there is no water in the tub, close the tap that was open and open the other one which was closed. i.e. if hot open/cold closed and no water, close hot/open cold.
Again allow to stay like that for a few hours and check the tub for water.
-If there is water in the tub, depending on which tap was open, you've probably got a leaking water inlet solenoid valve in the washer.
