May be a battery problem. Thankfully, you have an android phone. So you should be able to open the case off the back, then try taking out the battery, then plugging the charger into the phone, that directly powering the phone instead of using a battery, that could determine if its a battery issue or not. Not entirely sure If that works or not. Try it. If it works or not, trying buying a battery replacement, for that specific phone. It could also of been a heating issue and fried some of the components, therefor not being able to fix I think.
