The way I did it...I had JUST received the JBL Charge 3, and I DID NOT run the update, etc. So, I was able to press the “pairing symbol” on the JBL Flip 3 FIRST... then paired w/Charge 3 I think the KEY is to do it the way “Ken Bird” said in his answer...to pair the Flip 3 FIRST!! This is ALL assuming you DID NOT run the Firmware Update on the JBL Charge 3, etc. Otherwise, you’ll have to “cross your fingers” that JBL comes out with an Update for Flip 3! I hope this helps some of you guys out...

EVERYONE should contact JBL (Harmon) and demand an UPDATE to the JBL Flip 3 (to pair).
