Super glue removal help?

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

I recently agreed to help a friend with his beats, replacing the headband which is a fairly simple replacement. However a previous attempt to fix them involved super glue and now two broken pieces of plastic are stuck with Krazy Glue in the slot where the new headband is going to go. I've read that acetone might damage the plastics, and the headphone cable runs right through that area. Any suggestions on how to loosen the adhesive? I thought about trying heat but I'm afraid that might melt the cord
