I have a KitchenAid KSRA25CN refrigerator. It has an set of infared eyes that need to be able to see across to each other, just like garage door sensors have. One of the two openings for the eye was partially blocked, thus blocking the eye being able to see the other eye. So the ice maker thought the bin was full of ice (the eyes being blocked is how it knows to stop making ice). I moved the bag hanging down and blocking it and it immediately dropped ice. For reference, one eye was under the switch to turn the ice maker on and off (on the right side of the freezer) and the other was at the bottom of the door open flap (left side of the freezer) that shuts off the ice dumping feature when the door is open so the ice doesn’t get dropped in the floor. Hope this helps!
