This sounds like more of an issue with the digitizer glass/assembly. I'd recommend looking into reseating the cables for the digitizer and making sure no debris are in between the digitizer and the LCD. If not, you might need to look into a [product|IF122-001-9|new digitizer.]  Good luck!
