-After a while of not using my power cover with with surface pro 2 , it was showing either 0% or 100% but never charging and never capable to provide any extra power. I had difficulties to get it charging and tried many trick from forum without success (disconnect/reconnect multiple times etc)

-I finally solved it by following steps:

- fully load main battery, then uplug the power plug
- keep power cover connected
(- reboot with power and volume + pressed) -> I did it but didn't help apparently
- use the surface to discharge until less than 10%, this is getting into power saving mode for me
- shutdown, put power cable and leave the device closed with power cover on top of screen, surface closed laying flat on table
- after 1h the power cover was slightly hot and charging again
I don't know why it succeed, I assume the heat of main battery charging unblocked the cover cells. Give it a try before surgery of the power cover. Please also comment if this trick worked for you (or not)
