I would like to replace a faulty hdd with an old mSata using this adapter https://www.banggood.com/MSATA-Mini-PCI-E-SSD-to-1_8inch-44-Pin-IDE-Adapter-Hard-Disk-Converter-Card-Board-p-1097251.html?cur_warehouse=CN

plus a 2x female 44 pin ribbon cable to connect it to the ipods cable.

I know its a bit of a ghetto mod but will this work?
