@scotia1 sure it could be the speaker. Just quickly wire another speaker to the existing one and see if it does play. However, I am always concerned with the audio IC. I would suggest that you take a couple of pictures of your circuit board and post those with your question so we can see what you see. Use this guide [guide|21499] for that. Make sure you have a multimeter handy to measure a few things once we see what your amps board looks like.
