The first issue is that you are disconnecting the battery from the wrong place second issue is you are most likely using a prying tool to do so. Try using your finger nail and don’t go from the center try lifting from the edge of the connector. I had this issue on my very first SE repair. Replaced the damaged components and works like a charm. If you need any help feel free to ask
