Presumably you removed the battery before removing/replacing the RAM?
Have you tried the old RAM back in again to see if it still works OK?
If it does, what configuration was the old RAM, 2 x 2GB or 1 x 4GB?

Just verifying, what CPU is installed?
i3 -2xx0M, i3-2xx7M, goes with 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM
OR
i3-3xx0M, i3-3xx7U, i3-3xx9Y, i5-3xx0M, i5-3xx7U. i5-3xx9Y goes with 1666MHz DDR3L RAM
