What several of the lovely Laser and Ink Jet Printer companies do is have a chip on the toner cartridge and some type of reader on the printer to ensure that you are using their (new) cartridges. You may need to search ebay and the internet to locate a "kit" that you can use to defeat the system that is used by that particular printer. Look also for a "hard reset" function that might help reset any of the counters that might prevent printing with aftermarket toner cartridges.
