The obvious is that it doesn't matter what Operating System you have, yes you should have the proper printer drivers installed if you are legible to scan with no issue. When you always have issues with your computer or Printer always and i mean always go to the manufacturers website. Brother in this case, in alot of printers maintenance is a must and temporary you should clean the cartridges. Not physically but by running some kind of configuration in the menu of the printer.
