Here is an image, taken from the 2007 Subaru Forester [https://carmanuals2.com/subaru/forester-2007-owner-s-manual-88547|Owner Manual] that shows how to remove the map light lens so that the bulb can be replaced. Scroll to p.11-48

1. Remove the lens by prying the edge of the lens with a flat-head screwdriver.
2. Pull the bulb out of the socket. Install a new bulb.
3. Reinstall the lens.
The map light bulb is 12V-8W
