Have you pressed the Downhill Brake Control switch on the dash to see if the light goes out?
The following image is taken from the 2012 Kia Sportage owner manual. (You didn't state the model year so the switch may be in a different location)

If operating and releasing the switch makes no difference and you have traveled faster than 40 m.p.h. then the DBC system may be faulty. Take it to a dealer and get it checked out.
