We've had our Maytag Bravo for 7 years. It also sounded like a jet taking off when it went into the spin cycle. We bought the tub seal and bearing kit from dappz.com for $70(great service) and fixed it ourselves. It was not an easy fix but there are plenty of You Tube videos to walk you right through it. Yes, you would think the Maytags would last longer, but I guess they want to keep Maytag repairmen around! What's really a bummer is, if you can't fix it yourself you might as well go buy a new wash machine and fill up the landfill with a wash machine that is still like new!
