When cold screen "freezes" and gradually turns white.

Hello,
I have my laptop for 5 years now and in the last month I have the following issue:
If the laptop is left in a cold environment (not talking about below zero temperatures, about 10-15 degrees Celsius) the screen freezes and starts to turn white. The only way for it to recover is if I heat up the screen (rubbing it or tucking it somewhere warm). If I move the position of the screen it doesn't change anything. Connecting it to a monitor, the monitor is displaying everything as it should.
