I stupidly dropped my 17" mac book pro whilst putting it in it's case.
It fell on the corner where the magnetic power supply plugs in, and deformed the case.
Luckily everything worked on it, and still does.
I could always get it to charge after playing about with the plug a bit.
Now it refuses to charge, and i get no light on the power connection, green , or orange ?
Noticed the damage, deformation wasn't allowing the plug to seat properly, as it was out of line. So carefully removed the cover , and power connector, and gently tapped the case back into position.
The plug is now clear and seats properly, but still no charging, the comp. worked until the battery drained.
My question is can I get a new case / chassis, as it looks pants ?
Has anyone had this done ?
What's the Apple repairs like ?
Any idea of cost ?
This was a top of range i7 unit, and is too good to bin, so willing to spend a bit on it .
Any recommendations for UK based repairers would be appreciated !
Cheers,
Mel....
