Use a strong light and a magnifying glass to visually inspect the voice inlet hole, found on the bottom edge of the phone, to see if it is blocked with dust or lint.
If it appears to be blocked use a vacuum cleaner, using short sharp bursts, to try and clear the obstruction.

If you don't have a magnifying glass try the vacuum cleaner anyway and then make or receive a call to test if it has been fixed.
