if you can get a bootable DVD with the version you have windows 8/8.1 plain or pro then you can see if you can refresh or reset.

P.S. if you already have your data saved then there is an option in many computers to do a factory restore.

some even offer to save data if so you will need an external usb drive to hold the amount of data you have now.
