Upgrading cpu, gpu, and heat sink.

So recently i have been searching online for parts and replacements for my old mac and wondered can i replace the logic board to a mac 2011 (i5 , 4gb ram) and would that upgrade my gpu too or its that separate parts? Also on another article, i found out that you would need to replace the old heat sink so the cpu wouldn't overheat, so based on that do i also need to replace a fan? Or am I just pushing my mac upgrades too hard?
