Frother mechanism gets hot but not hot enough to finish frothing

It seems like it takes forever for the light to come on for the steam and then when we do the steam after doing the espresso it does not seem to have enough pressure to complete the frothing. It only gets so hot and then it stops frothing instead of doing it continually until it’s frothed the way you like it. So we have been troubleshooting it. We tried priming it. When we first primed it, the water came out clear through the steam wand and the portafilter. Then we hit the steam button and waited for it to start steaming and then repeated the process and the water came out milky and dirty. It also seems like it’s just not getting hot enough or having full pressure to finish the shot.
Even when pulling the espresso shot, it seems like it’s not pulling a good strong shot, it tastes weak.
When priming it also when expelling it through the portafilter, it seems to be leaking when we are doing the steam. This maybe a couple of problems.
