from your question there is no way for me to tell exactly what the power port you need repaired is on.
if it's a phone, a calculator, or? and what model. there are a lot of things with power ports, some are much easier to fix than others. Most likely though, it's best to remove the old one after buying a new one and then installing the new one. I know that sounds impossible with some Items but you have to remember, it was installed once and so you know it can be installed again, It's just a matter of getting it done.
