How do I repair the E or error in my Canon Shurshot Z115 35mm camera?

My Canon Sureshot, Z115, 35 mm camera has displayed and "E" for error. The camera will not work; take a snapshot. Canon wrote that it no longer repair this camera, so how might I repair it?
