There are 4 doors in your heater box depending on your specific truck. They all have DC motors and plastic driveshafts. The motors are strong enough to break the doors. You can find replacement doors that are steel.  Chances are good that you have atleast 2 doors broken. What you mentioned is easy to replace once you remove the dash.
