Screen Low Brightness Before and After Replacement

The screen functions but appears to be very low brightness. Just replaced the screen as per directions. On first boot screen back to normal. Shortly after back to being very low brightness.
I assume I have missed a obvious setting. Pulled battery etc and getting same effect.
You can if looking carefully see the screen content.
