I have had previous GM / Chrysler vehicles develop battery charging issues and both times the alternator failed. Worse case scenario, check if the protection diodes on the back of your alternator are broken. Sometimes they will be have black marks on them or have a tiny hole in them. These protection diodes can fail from an overcurrent situation such as improperly using your vehicle to bump start a friends, or charging your car battery + using a battery charger to get your engine running. If these diodes are dead, replace them or the alternator. Depenging on your alternator, you may be able to find the rear housing with the protection diodes for sale at a parts store. If you just want to replace the diodes you may have luck on digikey or mouser finding replacement diodes.
