I have 3 of these units. One of them had this same problem. I called the 800 number and they replaced it for free. It was about 2 years old. Now another unit has the same issue. I guess I will have to call again. These units cannot be repaired but they have a 5 year warranty on the compressor, You call up, tell them the problem, then you get a letter in the mail stating they will refund your pruchase price. You send them the serial number sticker and the original receipt and they send you a check for whatever you paid and then you go out and buy another one.
