Transfering photos to pc but cant find them on PC?

I am trying to transfer pictures to my PC but HTC has this ridiculous sync manager and I tried to sync them but it says it is syncing all of the photos but then when I go to look there aren't any of the photos.. I tried in my computers files too. I go to My Computer and then to my phones file where I would usually just drag and drop the files but I can't find any of the 400 photos I have on my phone! Please help, I am so frustrated by this.. I even went into my File Manager and tried messing around by putting the photos into a file I could find on my computer but it still just isn't working.
My phone is recognized by the computer too, there aren't any connection issues. It's like these photos don't exist.
