What do you see from the phone at the moment when you plug the charger in?
You should see at least:
An orange light at the top, a charging logo displayed at the middle, hopefully with a percentage sign under the battery as well.
What was wrong with the phone before you replaced the battery? Was it draining too fast, not charging then you couldn't get it to charge once it went flat?
