Bill Brown, There is a possibility of a bad installed app. Here is info. from 1st link below. Try booting into Safe Mode, which disables all 3rd party apps. Power on tablet, press and hold Power until the Power Off menu appears. Press and hold Power Off until the Safe Mode prompt appears, then tap OK. if the crashes persist in Safe Mode, then it's more likely hardware-related and you should return the tablet for replacement/refund.
