joannjones2k, If you have checked all what has been suggested so far, you can check/remove the oil filler tube has a rubber O ring seal in place at the base of tube, to seal to the engine fill port. If all looks good, there is a chance that the engine assy. case bolts may be loose/gasket blown out or there could be a actual crack in the engine case. Some of these mowers had up to a 4 year warranty, most were 2 year, If you can check if under warranty and if able use the warranty to have mower repaired/replace/refund. Good luck.
