self propelled lawnmower struggling to self propell

hi there, my self propelled briggs and stratton 675 series is struggling to self propell. i find i am having to push the mower also to help it along. i have recently put in a new air filter and changed the oil with the help from the guides on this site. is there anything else i can do to help solve the problem. ty for any help or advice given :)
