Sumona Florence,The starter can be removed and tested before replacing. Some of the auto parts suppliers offer free starter/alternator/battery testing like Pepboys, Nappa, Advanced auto parts, etc and some of the guys are very knowledgeable and may have seen the issue often and put you on the right track. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

Sumona Florence, It is possible the starter overheated or just has failed. If Battery is in deed charged12.2+ volts and all wires/connections/fuses/relays look OK, probably starter/solenoid failure. Just for the heck of it if able to, use a set of jumper cables and give the car a boost. The starter can be removed and tested before replacing.
