Charge the battery 24 hrs. initially, then monthly or after 25 starts, is the manuals recommendation, see pg. 16 in the manual( 1st link) for further instruction. If your battery does not seem to hold a charge, the lawn mower carries a 3-year guaranteed-to-start and 2-year full warranty, return for replacement/repair/refund.
