either the speakers have finally given up and need to be replaced or the wires have been severed.

if you haven't changed any drivers or anything I doubt itll be a software issue. but if you are trying to troubleshoot everything, try re installing the sound drivers for your laptop

if it still doesn't work itll need to be serviced.
