My toilet overflowed about a month ago. I thought it was a sewage backup because I had sewage all over my carpet. I got it cleaned up. 3 weeks later it overflowed again. I got it cleaned up, pretty much just water that time. It just overflowed again. It was just water again. The 3rd time was just days after the 2nd. I have turned the water off to the toilet. I just put dish soap down it and am letting it set for a little bit to see if anything happens. What is my best way to fix it? Will turning the water off to it help? This toilet hasn't been used in a while.
