I would check your hard drive in Disk Utility. It might be failing. Just run disk utility, select your hard drive, then run the "Verify Disk" option, and see if that returns any errors.
-If it reports an error, then run the "Repair Disk" option. If this doesn't fix it, there may be a problem with your computer's cooling system, open it up, and check for any fluid pooling up on the bottom. (Assuming your PMG5 has a liquid cooling unit)
