Peter if the tablet is brand new I would advise you to take it back on warranty. If your having this much of a problem with it this new then whats it going to be like as it gets older  . If the tablet were older and out of warranty I would advise disconnecting the battery . This clears the memory allowing for a clean boot. however this machines battery is soldered to the motherboard so I wouldn't advise you do this if you still have the warranty option.
