novatel Mifi 2200 power won't come on

Novatel Mifi 2200 when I try to power on, there is no light on the power switch. Could it be the battery is dead?  I plugged it in, pushed the power button but no light. I took the battery out pushed the power button 5 seconds and put the battery back in and pushed the power button for 5 seconds, still no light. If the battery is dead  how long will it take to see a green power light when I plug it in?
