Because you cannot operate the phone successfully you ''may ''have to perform a hard reset to restore the phone to normal functioning.
Unfortunately ''doing this will erase all your downloaded apps and user data. It will restore the phone to its' factory default condition. It will be like when you first bought it.''
First ''turn off the phone'' and remove any external SD Card (if installed), and then fully charge the battery.
Once the battery is charged, remove the charger and then commence the hard reset (also known as a factory restore).
