@csingle5 , suzie, you may have to have some one with a little more brute strength pull up on the lever and push the release. If still not releasing, the console,etc. will have to be removed to gain access to the e brake cable adjustment nuts to release pressure, enabling the release button hopefully(use a little lubricant on cable slides,pins,lever teeth,release pin,etc., while it is apart. If after this and still not functioning the brake lever assy. will have to be replaced as it is defective.

In an emergency, you can cut the e brake cable to get it to a good shop to have repaired, although you will have additional cost for replacement cable. Good luck.
