Not powering on when plugged in.

I plug in my guitar hero II guitar and the guide button does not light up. I opened up the guitar and discovered one of the capacitors was not working. I replaced the capacitor with the same 10 uF but went for 50 volts instead of 25. The capacitor still has no power running through it. Any ideas?
