This is the same question as your iPod Touch 5 question... It's most likely a problem with the charge circuit in your device. On iPhones, this is referred to as the U2/Tristar IC. The problem with the iPods is there are no schematics in the wild, at least none that I am aware of so micro-soldering repairs are more difficult.
