+SD card (Toshiba) not getting mounted after the upgrade to Android 5.0

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

Samsung Galaxy S5. I had a problem with my 32 GB SD card (Toshiba) not getting mounted after the upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop rolled out by Samsung.

The SD card worked fine in a computer. I tried everything, moved the files off the card and reformatted to Fat32. Tried to format to NTFS and get the phone to format, tried some other SD cards that I know works, restarts, etc. Nothing helped.

It either said "Preparing SD Card, Checking for Errors" or "SD card safe to remove". I finally decided to factory restore, but when doing the backup with Samsung KIES 3 software on a PC I got a prompt to upgrade the firmware. But the error was still there after firmware upgrade. So when I started the factory restore process I entered my password, and when pressing the proceed button, it found my card, just in time to be able to abort the restore process. I have done this twice so it might work for ohers with the same problem.
