Incandescent lights don't last long but light emitting diodes generally do! and since led's are indicators they are usually connected across the psu or charger including a current limiting resistor that should (not infallible ) last for a long time.

The absence of the led indicator does not mean the charger is faulty as you have already said it is working otherwise.
