Turn old MacBook Air A1466 into external monitor, build

Hello. I recently watched this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfirQC99xPc), and got inspired to try it myself with my old Macbook Air 13" A1466.
However, in the video, you have to use a controlboard for the computer. I can't seem to find one, with either HDMI or Thunberbolt, that will work with the Macbook Air.
Any suggestions as to what to do, or where to find a controlboard?
