If you have had a tune up done recently, IE, spark plug replacement, Remove the plug wires one at a time while the engine is off and examine them for damage caused by electrical discharge through the plug wire insulation, it will look burnt and like something bursted out from the middle of the wire. I had this happen to me after installing and Accel Coil Pack, the Plugs were bad and the HECI discharge was too much for the wire/plug causing a massive energy burst to the engine ground system, this was causing major power drops on the freeway making the engine feel bogged down.
