My first suspect with be the RAM. The RAM most likely is not compatible with the system. Try the old RAM with the SSD drive and see if the system works.

+Like Mayer said, how is the new hard drive formatted? Did you install the OS correctly? If you have your time machine backup, then try and reformat the hard drive and reinstall the OS then use your time machine to restore your files back.
