My camera fell down to the ground now it constantly freezes

Hi, I have a Nikon d5000 and if fell a couple a months ago. Ever since when I turn it on it often freezes and the screen has green lines across it. The only way I can the turn the camera off it by removing the battery. I wanted to know if there's something I can do to fix it or if I have to send it a repair place to get it fixed. If so how much do you think it'll cost. Thanks
